There are a variety of services offered by the session layer that directly service the applications requested by users. However, little is known about how the choice of these services affects the performance of computer networks. The present thesis Initiates studies on session protocol modeling with two service configurations: the first one, representing the minimum configuration of session services, considers the normal data transfer services and interaction management with duplex and semi - duplex dialog modes. , and the second, considers the service - normal data transfer and interaction management and data quarantine services, with duplex and semi - duplex dialog modes, and local and remote options. Choosing a session services configuration depends on the application you consider. This thesis considers as examples the file transfer applications and the telecompras service, respectively directed to the first and second service configuration mentioned. It presents as a basic model the model of a session connection in the data transfer phase. Consider models combining duplex and semi-duplex dialog modes and / or local and remote data quarantine options. For each of these models, analyze their performance Investigating for the first referenced service configuration, the participation of the average admission delay measure in the session end-to-end average delay measure, and for the second configuration, the participation of the measures average admission delay and average quarantine delay in the measure end-to-end session connection delay. It also investigates the effects of joint participation of Interaction management and data quarantine services on models related to the second service configuration mentioned.
