Résumé:
The school environment is also responsible for building and strengthening eating habits, as the child remains in place for one or two periods of the day, living with educators, caregivers and other children who will assist and influence in shaping their values and your lifestyle, including nutrition. The objective of this study was to evaluate the nutritional status of preschoolers and qualitatively analyze the menu preparations of a public nursery linked to the National School Meals Program. The survey was conducted in March and April 2015. The methodology was based on the collection and subsequent analysis of the anthropometric data of preschool and application of AQPC School method, which evaluated items are classified into two categories from the nutritional point of view: Foods that are recommended for this school public (ie those that are beneficial to health), and foods that require monitoring (because they can pose health risk). The assessment of the menu, it has been found in high number of breakfast preparations with added sugar and sugar products, and the absence of fresh fruits, monotony of food and absence of color. The lunch meal showed high frequency in offering flatulent food and difficult to digest, but was offered almost every day, non-starch vegetables, cereals, breads, pasta and starchy vegetables, meat and eggs and legumes. We highlight the daily supply of fresh fruits in afternoon snack. Already at dinner, there was a high frequency of flatulent food, difficult to digest and preparations with similar colors at the same meal. Regarding the results of nutritional assessment, there was prevalence of normal weight in the indexes weight / height (W/H), height / age (H/A), weight / age (W/A), BMI / age (BMI/A). Given the results, possibly the quality of food offered in day care may have close relationship with the results expressed in assessing the nutritional status of preschool children.
