Resumen:
The solidary economy and popular education emerged as a way of
social manifestation, as opposed to the condition of oppression that minorities
marginalized people suffer for the ruling elite. This study discusses that the practices
based on the approaches and principles of the two movements
provide students in the field with an educational base capable of
to promote the social transformation of reality. The work contextualizes the
historical process of the solidary economy, evidencing its inherences with the
popular education. Describes the four historical periods of field education
in Brazil and presents questions about Freire's conceptions of education.
Through the data collected through the case study, it is noted that the School
Bento Tenório de Souza High School, located on the Santa
Catarina, in the municipality of Monteiro - PB is far from becoming a school of
liberating practices aimed at autonomy and the preservation of the identity of the
subject of the field. However, it was noted that the lack of a
progressive education, compromises the possibility of the subjects to become
liberate, and to change the reality in which they are inserted.
