The Systemic Arterial Hypertension (SAH) is one of the most important health problem nowadays. This is a multifactorial clinical condition characterized for high arterial pressure sustained. The angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors allowed huge advancement in the hypertension therapy. The Enalapril is an antihypertensive prodrug, angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor with action long. It is very utilized because of your fast absorbing and good bioavailability. The drug quality determination is a very important fact. Deviation in the recommended characteristics can mean serious risk to the patients health and may become a public health problem. The objective this work was evaluate the quality of the Enalapril tablets of 5 mg and 10 mg available in the basic farmacy of Cuité city of the Paraíba state. Was analised: middle-weight, hardness, friability, desintegration time and drug contente. The analysed samples presented middle-weight, hardness and desintegration time within especifications of Brasilian Farmacopoeia edition 5; however the sample of Enalapril tablets of 5 mg and 10 mg showed up outside the oficial specifications for the friability and drug content tests respectively. Quality evaluation points out the safety indices and efficacy of medicinal products supplied in the public system and can be used as a tool for supplier qualification and to enhance the bidding process.
