Abstract:
With the psychiatric reform, mental health care is directed to the individual, in a perspective of comprehensive care through services like Psychosocial Support Center (CAPS). These services, which arise after the extinction of asylums, seek to integrate the user community using for this different treatment strategies, one of which work with art. In this perspective, we ask: what is the influence of art in the social life of the mentally ill? Specifically could work with the theater support health promotion practices, with routes to probation, along with these individuals? It was hoped in this study, answer these questions and talk about the importance of theater as health promotion element to the users of CAPS Cuité / PB. The study deals with a field research, qualitative and descriptive held at CAPS in the city of Cuité / PB. Data collection was conducted through semi-structured interviews (total of 23 interviews) involving the following participants: the theater monitor the institution, other professionals, employees (nutrition students who performed practices while collecting data) and users.The interviews were audio-mp3, transcribed and analyzed using content analysis methodology. After analyzing the data, it is noticed that the theater can help the health promotion work in CAPS with pathways Probation (1) because active singling processes that allow the reinvention of the subject, for example, from the stimulus to depersonalize the figure of the disease, by means of characters, (2) because it stimulates the creation a new lease of life to the subjects that develop a skill that values giving them self-confidence, even with the maintenance of pathological chronic condition; and finally, (3) because it contributes to the social rehabilitation to stimulate work with the group. It follows that the theater work in CAPS stimulates the creative potential of users and comes as a space for innovative experiments creating a means of producing life with users. Thus, this research suggests new studies that favor this approach and highlights the need for training courses and incentives for these professionals is empower accordingly: art therapy in health promotion, especially for nutritionists using the theater as a means of producing Education food and Nutrition.
