Abstract:
Adolescence is a fundamentally biological process during which accelerates cognitive development and the structuring of personality, including the ages of 10 to 19 years, divided into the following steps: pre-adolescence (10 to 14 years) and adolescence itself (15-19 years), constituting a phase of intense change and transformation, in which the lack of information and the knowledge of what you are entitled can develop a process of risk and fragility. In this perspective, there the need to develop dynamic educational activities and that interact with adolescents, aiming to spread awareness on human rights and citizenship. Thus, the present study matches a field research with qualitative approach, in which consisted development of educational activities among students from a public school in the city of Cuité in the state of Paraíba, in order to promote the protagonism and empowerment of students. The worked themes were aimed mainly human rights, citizenship and the Child and Adolescent, the activities took place with fortnightly frequency in the morning and afternoon shifts, with two classes of 9th year and with a total of 54 teenage. To collect the data, we used three instruments, a questionnaire with descriptive purposes, participant observation and semi-directed interview. The results from the questionnaire at the beginning of the activities showed that most teenagers did not have the knowledge necessary about citizenship and human rights and after the period in which occurred the development of activities, was noticeable the importance of using participatory and playful methodologies and dynamic activities for effectiveness of the seizure of knowledge by students. The application of semi-structured interview, by the end of activities, showed that adolescents had empowered in relation to their rights and expressed how to exercise their citizenship, highlighting the importance of fighting for better living conditions. In this sense, the development of this study demonstrated the need for further activities to disseminate human rights, in particular the Statute of Children and Adolescents for young audiences, in order to enable a change of thought and the formation of a critical stance.
