Résumé:
This research presents a linguistic analysis with emphasis on the orality in the
poems: “O poeta da roça” (2007) and “Brasi de cima e Brasi de Baxo” (2007) by
Patativa do Assaré, a poet from the state of Ceará, Northeast of Brazil. To
accomplish this research, we have as general objective to analyze some variations in
the lexicon of poems from a structural point of view, in addition to a generativist and
sociolinguistic perspective. For this purpose we have specific objectives related to
the theme: to present, from the poetry of Patativa, the phenomena of orality that
manifest themselves through popular culture in his work; to perceive some
characteristics that relate writing and speech; identify some linguistic phenomena
related to the lexicon present in the poems “O poeta da roça and Brasi de cima” e
“Brasi de baxo”. We also present a brief analysis of the author's work, highlighting its
political and social importance for Northeastern culture, besides evincing the marks
of orality in his poetry. This bibliographic research has a qualitative nature. As for the
theoretical apparatus, we are based on the theories of Suassure, Chomsky,
Marcuschi, among others. The analysis takes as reference structuralist, geractivist
and sociolinguistic conceptions, which constitute significant elements for the same. It
is also emphasized the literary value of poetry, which attach importance to variety of
language, from orality as a northeastern cultural mark. With this we intend to
contribute to the culture that is often not valued in its integrity, because it is produced
in a variety less prestigious language in society.
