A construção do trágico na peça Antígona, de Sófocles.

Abstract

The aim of this work is to discuss the connection of the tragic in Sophocles' play, Antigone, above all, to analyze sections of the play in question that represent the actions practiced by the two central characters, and the reasons that led them to commit hrybris, as well as unleashed the Tragic end of Antigone and Creon. Taking into account the characteristic elements of a tragedy, which are in the composition made by the tragedy. And then, the study makes an analysis of the play Antigone. The focus of this study is related with the analysis of the tragic in the play Antigone by Sophocles, with a bibliographic and analytical research from the point of view of the theorists: Aristoteles (1984; 1993); Hegel (1964); Lesky (1996); researchers such as Brandão (2001); Barros (2004); Gazolla (2001); Jaeger (2001); Machado (2006); Romilly (2008). And, besides these, the three Theban plays with three tragedies by Sophocles: Oedipus the King, Oedipus at Colonus and Antigone; the critical study and the Donald Schuler translation of the book Oedipus the King. Among others, Seven Against Thebes by Ésquilo (2003), works and papers that discuss about this theme. The Antigone and Creonte actions are at the heart of this analysis, as well as their respective tragic ends because their mistakes and excesses.
