Resumen:
This work aims to analyze the study of the environment as a significant methodology
in the teaching of Geography. Thus, the same is organized in two stages: The
bibliographical survey of the theoretical reference, is based on the analysis of the
study of the environment as teaching methodology, the environment and
environmental problems, erosion, deforestation and pollution. problems of the reality
of the school community from which the research was carried out. The second stage
is to carry out a study of the environment in a group of 6th grade of the Municipal
School of Normal Primary Education in Middle Level Father José de Anchieta, in the
city of Santa Helena-PB, in order to respond to the objectives outlined here , to
observe the study of the environment as an important tool in the learning teaching
process, in the observation of environmental problems, especially in Geography
classes, given that Geography is a science that has as object of study the geographic
space. In this way we prove through the application of this teaching methodology in
the classroom, which is quite effective for learning and meaning of the proposed
contents, in the case here the environmental problems, besides the interest and
participation of the students. We then observe that the study of the medium is a tool
that contributes to the student learning the contents in a practical way, is precisely
learning by doing, producing research.
