Résumé:
The umbuzeiro is a fruit plant of the genus Spondias, native to semi-arid region of Northeast Brazil. Belonging to the family of anacardiáceas, is a small tree, crown- shaped umbrella, spread, short trunk, gnarled branches and very branched. It is a deciduous plant xerophytic and therefore adapted to the heat, poor soils and low rainfall density. Besides its importance for the economy of families of the fruits of umbu, the umbuzeiro leaves, both green, as drought, is an important source of food for animals in the bush, providing nutrients, especially energy and protein, which are necessary to meet the maintenance requirements and animal production. Thus, this study aimed to make the morphological and physicochemical analysis of umbu sheet (Spondias tuberosa arruda) in order to evaluate its use as an animal feed. The umbuzeiro leaves were characterized their morphology in their general parts: nomenclature, Limbo study and phyllotaxis and dimensional. Were determined following physicochemical parameters: dry matter content, organic matter, total protein content, free acidity and pH. The average dry weight was 20.89%, the total organic matter was 92.67%, the ash content was 7.26%, values for dry matter, the average value of total protein was 15.7% and the pH value was 2.9. Therefore, after being performed the analysis it may be concluded according to the results of the umbuzeiro sheets due to its nutritional value are an important alternative for use in the foraging animals.
