Abstract:
This study concerns the importance of landscape in Geography. It aims to analyze
the perception of landscape collected among the students of the 6th year of primary
education of the school Escola Estadual de Ensino Fundamental Santa Maria
Gorete, in the afternoon. Besides this, this work also aims to cover the importance of
contextualizing the theme in students' daily lives. In order to reach the proposed
objectives, it was necessary to carry out a bibliographical survey on the theme, to
obtain the students' drawings and to evaluate the landscape representations,
resulting in their classification into four groups in order to analyze them, for each
group brings a certain notion of landscape. The approach to landscape perception for
students is important, and it should be taught in the classroom by teachers with due
attention to the theme, because when studying the landscape by analyzing it in the
context in which the student is inserted allows him/her a sharper perception of the
elements that compose it, as well as a critical reading of its surroundings and also of
the world, when perceiving through the landscape, the social context in which it is
inserted.
