Résumé:
This study objectve to analyze the representation of the northeastern poetry Patativa do
Assaré. Therefore, we will have a review of the book there Cante lá que eu canto cá,
published in 1970s, where they are assembled one hundred and five poems manifest
discursive purpose of this research. The regionalist discourse present in the popular
Northeast literature allows for identity construction and a statement as subject
Northeast. In the middle several northeastern poets Patativa do Assaré stood out for
simple and realistic way his verses represent this subject. As a theoretical framework
will use the concept of "representation" proposed by Roger Chartier, and the notion of
regionalist discourse proposed by Durval Muniz de Albuquerque Junior.
