Resumo:
This study evaluated the students' perception with respect to contraceptive methods and aimed to identify the knowledge about the use of contraceptive methods among teenagers at the State Elementary School and Middle Orlando Venâncio saints of the municipality of Cuité-PB. In public schools sex education has been gaining more and more, performing works with students aged between 15-19 years old. Due to changes in adolescence, these individuals do not always refer responsible attitudes and dialogue with parents or educators on ways of contraception to prevent early pregnancy and / or sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). This was a descriptive and exploratory research, with data collection conducted from September to December 2014 with data analysis in April 2015. According to the survey, the majority of students responded that they had practiced sexual intercourse, mentioning the use of condoms in their sexual relations, as well as the use of contraceptives to prevent pregnancy. Regarding the professional career, the same said they want to get into a college, thus concluding that they demonstrated responsibility. According to the survey, the majority of students had some knowledge regarding the most effective methods, both to prevent pregnancy or sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). For best results, it is important that the school continue with this work, helping your teen can live a healthier sex life.
