Resumen:
Drug interaction is a clinical event in which the effects of a drug are affected by the presence of another drug, herbal, food, drink or some environmental chemical agent. Can not distinguish clearly who will or will not show an adverse drug interaction. Among the conditions that place patients at high risk of drug interactions is the group of hypertensive patients, presenting chronic diseases and most often make use of other drugs. This integrative literature review aims to survey the undesirable drug interactions involving antihypertensive drugs in order to contribute to a better performance in professional therapeutic practice. The research was conducted in the electronic databases: Scielo, Bireme, Scholar Google e Portal CAPES. As search strategy was used with terms such as "drug interaction", "hypertension", "anti-hypertensive", "drug-nutrient interaction" and "herbal". There was cross terms. Relevant information was found regarding the interactions of antihypertensive drugs with: other antihypertensives, with other drug classes, with nutrients and herbal. It was concluded that interactions presented evidence the need for trained pharmacists, offering support in pharmaceutical care for the whole population and, in particular, the group of hypertensive patients due to increased risk of drug interactions, since they are continuous use of drugs with various associations.
