The fact that they represent one of the groups of vertebrates of greater importance game in the world due to its economic importance and sociocultural,representing approximately 82% of species caught illegally in the entire Brazilian through this work was carried out to characterize the illegal trade of wild birds on the basis of the data record of Sorting Centers of Wild Animals of the IBAMA in the States of Rio Grande do Norte and in Paraiba The data collection occurred from March 2014 the January 2015 through database queries available by CETAS-RN and by CETAS-PB. The data were quantified and systematized the years 2005 to 2014, relating to the entry of birds seized or surrendered voluntarily by the local population. To obtain more information interviews were carried out with the biologists of CETAS to both the state Were used calculations of relative abundance for attendance which bird species were more seized over the years. The lack of investment in sorting centers of wild animals added to the lack of allocation of confiscated animals and trained professionals have contributed significantly to the increase in illegal trafficking of wild Bird The CETAS in both states, the seizures were the most common form of entry of animals, and the birds the predominant group in all years evaluated. Among the birds, the more orders received and seized were the Passeriformes and Pscittaciformes. The species more seized were the Sicalis flaveola (canary-of-land), Paroaria dominicana (cock-of-plain) and Cyanoloxia brissonii (azulão). Already the endemic species of the caatinga more frequent during the years were the Dominican P. (cock-of-campina), Eupsittula cactorium (parakeet-of-caatinga) and Sporophila albogularis (golinha).
