The Drugstores are establishments that sell drugs, medicines, pharmaceutical raw materials and related packaging in its true and can also be understood as health facilities, where the pharmacist should seek to ensure the rational use of medicines and health promotion. The services provided by pharmacists in drugstores may be: clinical, aid, management, administrative, according to current legislation. The aim of this study was to describe the pharmacist in drugstore exercise of municipalities of Paraíba Cuité and Cajazeiras. For both a cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted from June 2014. Were visited 32 establishments, where we applied a questionnaire composed of objective and essay questions. Only 13 (40,6%) pharmacists agreed interview, 2 (6,2%) refused and 17 (53,2%) were absent. All professionals reported that the control of antibiotics, registration of transactions of stocks, updating these records and the interchangeability of possible medications were the most common pharmaceutical services, followed by an assessment of prescription 11 (84,6%), dispensing drugs 10 (77,0%) and pharmaceutical care 9 (69,2%). Verification practices glycemic 4 (30,8%), perforation of ear lobe 3 (23,0%), home care 4 (30,8%), pharmacovigilance 4 (30,8%) and prescription pharmaceuticals 1 (7,8%) were the least mentioned. Pharmacists said the importance of the professional health of the population, but highlighted the lack of time and enhancement of professional practice. Thus, it was observed that most of the activities related to drugstores management at the expense of clinical and health care, making it difficult to promote rational use of medicines and the recognition of pharmacy as a health facility.
