Resumo:
This work emerges of a genuine concern for the corresponding teaching-learning process
to Geography discipline in the Elementary school, the base of the knowledge of our
students. Therefore, we propose to analyze this process, with the focus of study classes 7 th
grade , belonging to the Municipal School Dr. José Pinheiro Dantas, is located in São João
do Rio do Peixe city, Paraíba state. Like this being, he happened to evaluate the
pedagogical practices developed by teachers and, therefore, the methodology and
procedures adopted by these professionals in the classroom. Consequently, some
reflections were necessary, with regard to the difficulties and dilemmas verified from the
Geography teaching in that school context. From this perspective, and in order to provide a
more complete approach to this process, they students were subject of the research, of
which seek to know the opinion, that is, the position of each in relation to school,
especially the way the teacher approaches the discipline. Thus, based on reports and
reflections made during the took place, we weave some comments, in which one can
observe the importance of further study of this issue and thus excite the perception of
pedagogical practices used in Geography teaching-learning process as well as the
methodological resources, as aim to provide the construction of knowledge and critical-
reflexive ability of students.
