Resumen:
Paleontology is the science that studies the fossil and which plays an important role, especially for the understanding of evolutionary processes on Earth. Gradually this science has been increasing over the years. However, the teaching of Paleontology in basic education has faced a number of obstacles, ranging from the short approach of its contents in the books, to the shortage of teaching materials with the theme, which results in the failure of their learning. The consequence of this limitation in the teaching of Paleontology, in turn, leads to students not understanding the basics of this science, making it impossible for them also to not know their importance to society. It is known that the Paleontology arouses and attracts the interest and curiosity of everyone, especially children. However, in early childhood education, paleontological themes are not included in the school curriculum in educational level. Having knowledge of the importance of the study of paleontology and its inclusion in the daily school children, this study aimed to promote the first contact of the children of the 5th year of the Escola Municipal do Ensino Fundamental Santa Ana Albuquerque, located in the countryside Stone Drafted with the Paleontology in the classroom, through entertaining methodologies and practices, as well as promotion in general the importance of science to society. Therefore, the methodology of this study was divided into four educational activities: playful lecture, practical activity "mounting a fossil," practical activity "dropping the imagination in design" and presentation of the documentary "Planeta dinossauro". The survey data were collected using a structured questionnaire with four questions and analyzed through content analysis technique (AC), of Bardin (2009). The results were very positive, proving that way to work paleontological topics through entertaining methodologies and a variety of teaching resources, and make the dynamic and enjoyable teaching favoring the construction of knowledge also helps in the literacy of children process.
