Resumen:
This study aims to evaluate the tipping process Theater the Riverside of Icos, built during the
nineteenth century, in the city of Icó, in the state of Ceará. More specifically, we intend to
evaluate how theater became important for icoense society about to pass a tipping process in
the twentieth century, identifying the current value that the theater has as historical heritage
and evaluating which style of time and their artistic and historical features - all of which
contributed to its patrimonial process. Furthermore, it approaches the restoration as a process
of balance theater maintenance. For this work were used as sources tipping process promoted
by the Institute of Historical and Artistic Heritage (IPHAN), the Department document the
State of Ceará Culture and documents the creation of the theater. Such sources were essential
in understanding the many dimensions of the object to provide an account of his
patrimonialization in the twentieth century.
