Abstract:
Thinking about the question of Architectural Historical Heritage is a subject that for many is still
new and so has generated deadlocks. Working with this theme means not only seeking the
value that history has. It is mainly about understanding and explaining how the
(re) organization of geographical space from the perspective of current use, preservation conditions
and importance. Historical heritage has its symbology, represents the record of events
past that must be preserved. This reflects both a past society and the
Actual society. It is through its forms that we can understand how this past went and how
this gift is presented. From this perspective, it is not just about form by form. THE
From the moment society assigns a value this becomes the condition of form-content.
This paper aims to analyze the existing architectural heritage
in the so-called historical center of the city of SJRP-PB, considering the current use, the
of preservation and the meaning. As a theoretical referential, we started from the concepts of
Milton Santos (1996), of Castells urban and landscape (2000). The instrument used for the
data collection was a semi-structured questionnaire, applied from August to October,
considering the population of the Centro neighborhood. The results allowed the following
considerations: the main monuments (buildings) are preserved (The Church
Matrix, The Time column); the set represented by the houses, most of them are
modified, few retain their original architecture. It was also found
through fieldwork that most of the historical heritage is deteriorated
or modified by human action. Regarding the meaning, it was verified through the
questionnaires that the population does not recognize the importance of the tipping process and are
favorable to the replacement of historic buildings.
