Resumen:
This work has as theme The importance of music as a methodological apparatus in
geography classes: a playful way of studying the semi - arid Northeast. Using music in
classes facilitates learning and dynamically increases students ' interest in classes.
Geography as a school subject faces a great challenge, the one to make students interested in
its contents because, for many students, the discipline is tedious and just decorative. Thus,
the main objective of this research is to analyze the song "Chuva de honestidade" by Flávio
Leandro, used to address the issue of the "Semi-Arid" in geography classes. The
methodology used was the bibliographic research, with the survey of theses, dissertations,
monograph and books that address the theme. The mentioned song was chosen to work the
main characteristics of the semiarid in classroom. The need for changing methodologies is
stark, since only the blackboard, the book and the blackboard marker are not enough to
arouse students' interest. In this way, a specific methodology was developed for using
Leandro’s song approaching Brazilian semiarid reality. Working with music is a way to
bring the student closer to the content and their experiences, thus facilitating the
understanding of the content and increasing the learning. Working on the theme "semi-arid
Northeastern" with music explores the subject in a dynamic and detailed way, showing the
students all the characteristics of this region with the aid of song.
