Resumen:
This monographic research seeks to show the urban impacts that occurred in Santa
Cruz after the railroad was implanted in 1951. The railroad
through the branch line that connected the city of Mossoró in Rio Grande do Norte to Sousa in Paraíba.
In the middle of the road was Santa Cruz, a small and inland town, 450 km from the
capital João Pessoa, to this day has this “historical brand” that little has been said or said.
We aim to analyze the cultural value of railway construction in this small urban space.

aspects in Santa Cruz and in others the urbanization did not happen.
