Dietary supplements are defined as substances used orally in order to complement a specific dietary deficiency. Often they are marketed as ergogenic aids that can improve or enhance physical performance. The research objective was to evaluate the students' knowledge about the use of dietary supplements in CES - UFCG in the Municipality of Cuité - PB. The methodology consisted of applying self-report questionnaire, the questionnaire consists of 10 questions. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, using the software tab and Microsoft ® Excel and Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS ®) statistical analysis. The results were obtained through questionnaires among students of health, courses in pharmacy, nursing and nutrition, where 56.2% of students performed some physical activity, predominantly weight with 34.2%. 86% of respondents already had some knowledge about food supplement sources like internet, friends, teachers, nutritionists and fitness, and 25.5% have felt some unwanted effect with the use of supplements. The work presented data consistent with other literature searches, and showed that the students already had some type of information on supplements and yet still making use on their own without any expert recommendation, thus increasing adverse effects.
