This study presented the profile and the epidemiology of alcoholism and smoking among pregnant women followed by the family health strategy in the city of Picuí-PB. Aimed to assess the knowledge of pregnant women against consumption of alcohol and tobacco as well as to survey the use of these compounds during pregnancy. The research presented an exploratory quantitative approach from a questionnaire administered to 21 pregnant women in the Family Basic Health Units (BFHU) in the city of Picuí-PB. Data were collected after approval and signature of the Terms of Consent by the participants. The results showed that there is full awareness of the harm caused by alcohol consumption and / or smoking by pregnant women and more than half reported being passive smokers.
