This study aimed to develop and evaluate the stability study matizador shampoo containing extract of Syzygium jambolanum DC (purple olives) for hair treatment. For both was necessary to perform three steps: 1) Collection and evaluation of extracts S. jambolanum DC; 2) Incorporation of the chosen formulation (shampoo) extract; 3) Evaluation of the stability of shampoo matizador S. jambolanum DC. Different extracts were obtained by maceration using as the solvent EtOH 96 ° GL, 77 ° GL EtOH and deionized water, respectively, and evaluated for macroscopic and organoleptic characteristics, spectrophotometric scanning and fixing the substrates. Formulations (shampoo) and placebo shampoo containing extract, then the samples were submitted to a stability study of freeze-thaw were manipulated. After comparison of the results obtained with the different extracts the base purple olive, it can be concluded that the extract obtained in EtOH 96 GL was more efficient in the extraction of the pigments, displaying (red-purple), and greater resistance to wash dark color, being the most acidic pH in stable condition with scan between 480-650 nm. Furthermore, the macroscopic evaluation matizador shampoo, it did not change in color, odor, and a precipitate after 24 hours of manipulation, remaining unchanged after the freeze-thaw test. The development of matizador shampoo using ethanol extract of S. jambolanum DC as natural pigment was effective with compatible commercial matizador shampoo and satisfactory stability results. The efficiency for coloring substrates and resistance to washing classifies it as a temporary dye, using a viscosity agent (Sepigel ®) to improve physical stability
