Resumo:
This study examined the perception and attitude of nurses on patient status of induced abortion in the maternity hospital Nossa Senhora de Cuité, PB. Aimed to understand and analyze the therapeutic approach and work processes reported by the nursing team, providing care to women undergoing post-abortion procedures in view of the guidelines of the host and the Technical Standard for Humane Abortion Care. The research presented an exploratory quantitative approach and left a questionnaire with 25 nurses who work in different sectors of the hospital. Data were collected after approval by the Research Ethics Committee and signed the Terms of Consent by the participants. Results show that the lack of qualifications for the job in assisting in abortion and understanding of the problem of abortion in Brazil, also contributes to the emergence of value judgments and prejudices that influence this type of care. Technical-scientific in cases of abortion and meanings of humanization, knowledge is not always fully present in this type of assistance.
