Resumen:
Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a chronic progressive neurodegenerative disease, with multiple and often unknown etiology that affects the cognitive, functional and behavioral areas. Considering the importance of a early diagnostic to slow the progress of DA and its symptoms, and ensuring therapeutic management excellence and better levels of quality of life for patients, caregivers and family members, there is a need of developing a line of care for elderly people with this grievance, specialized in actions of promotion, protection, recovery and health maintenance. Thus this study aimed to construct a line of care for elderly people with Alzheimer's from the perspective of nurses working in the Family Health Strategy. Consists of a field study of exploratory and descriptive characteristics, qualitative approach, developed with seven nurses actives in primary care in the municipality of Santa Cruz/RN. Data were collected with the assent of the Research Ethics Committee of the University Hospital Alcides Carneiro (CAAE No. 31307314.9.0000.5182) using semi- structured interviews and analyzed according to the Collective Subject Discourse. From the construction of the central ideias was evidente a lack of a structured networks of care for the elderly people with AD, and the generic care performed predominantly by primary care professionals. The idealized line of care to the elderly people with AD exposes the need of elements like: assistance in all the levels of complexity; family support; additional diagnostic center; pharmaceutical assistance; continuing education; intersectionality; and caregivers groups. It is believed, therefore, that the effectiveness of care for elderly people with AD based on this line of care associated with the participation of the management and implementation of the nursing process, provides them with a comprehensive and humane care, directs decision making and reduces considerably deficits associated with the disease.
