AIDS is a serious threat to public health, both for its severity, speed of growth and potential
lethality, as the suffering and economic and social consequences it causes. This study aims to
identify and describe the look of Community Health Workers in relation to users with HIV /
AIDS in the city of Cajazeiras. The study has methodological proposal as a field research with
exploratory and descriptive approach quantitative qualitative. Being quantitative data
analyzed and computed through the SPSS software with the help of descriptive statistics,
where data were presented in form of graphs and tables, and discussed in the light of relevant
literature. While qualitative data through semi-structured interviews were recorded and each
participant's residence, where the thematic analysis was analyzed through the Collective
Subject Discourse. The study was submitted to the Ethics Committee of the State University
of Paraíba. The sample consisted of 30 ACS city Cajazeiras, was made the highlight of
expressions - Keys entire speech of each subject. Soon after it was identified for each question
the central idea (IC). Getting up as a result of this study the visibility of ACS against AIDS.
We found data concerning the socio-demographic profile of the participants, we found that
most professionals are female, married, Catholic religion and aged 32-40 years, with little
instruction level, most of them having completed the level Avg. It was revealed in interviews
that the main problems encountered by ACS in conducting active case finding in patients with
AIDS are prejudice, social stigma that the disease generates and lack of knowledge of
professionals on morbidity. Most participants have revealed great uncertainty and
unpreparedness to give the wearer with HIV + and showed little knowledge about the disease
in the course of the narrative. Regarding the self bias, most showed not own it, but some
participants revealed unobtrusively owning it. The work allows to sensitize the relevant
bodies to build more effective strategies and actions in order to contribute positively to the
process of health education.
