Résumé:
The serologic screening of blood donors, not enables security for 100% of the
possibility of the transmission of-contagious agents. The Ministry of Health determines
the carrying out of tests for syphilis, hepatitis B and C, HIV, Chagas1 disease. Among
other diseases transmissible by transfusion, in all units of blood collected in Brazil. The
aggravations that come composing the System of Compulsory Notification of Diseases
have been those that may pose a risk to the health of collectives and, traditionally,
comes-if restricting the communicable diseases. Objective: To quantify the data on
notifiable diseases of importance in the city of transfusion Cajazeiras - PB, to identify
the prevalence of AIDS, syphilis, hepatitis, visceral leishmaniasis and Chagas disease.
Methodology: The research was conducted under a qualitative perspective related to
the incidence of the number of cases of AIDS, syphilis, hepatitis, Chagas disease and
leishmaniasis. The population of this project consisted of some system data DATASUL.
Results: There is considerable reporting communicable diseases, such as viral hepatitis
and visceral leishmaniasis. The prevalence of visceral leishmaniasis in the city of
Cajazeiras was higher than the prevalence in the State of Paraíba. Conclusion: It is
observed that some periods there was no notification of diseases. Improvements are
required in the service of surveillance and professionals increasingly empowered and
engaged in surveillance and hemotherapy. Proposes, therefore, more detailed
observational studies, and serological surveys appropriate for the greater security for
transfusion practice.
