Resumo:
The diseases arising from the work are health problems that affect people
coming from their work activities . And occupational stress is affecting workers with great
frequency . Objective: To evaluate the level of stress among bank employees of the High
backlands of Paraiba . Methodology: This was a descriptive study , field and quantitative
nature of the data is developed in a bank located in Cajazeiras -PB . The study population
consisted of 35 employees . The sample in turn , was comprised of 22 professionals who met
the criteria for inclusion in the study . Data were collected through a socio-demographic
questionnaire and the Inventory of Stress Symptoms for adults Lipp ( ISSL ) , and analyzed in
Statistical Package for Social Sciences ( SPSS ) . Results and Discussion: drew up a profile
of bank predominantly male ( 63.6 % ) , aged between 20 and 40 years ( 72.7 % ) , married (
54.5 % ) , with children ( 72.7 ) , 68.2 % are graduates , working in the bank between 1 and 5
years ( 50 % ) work more than six hours daily ( 59.1 % ) , 81.8 % report having a banking
exclusively, 81 , 8 % work more than 30 hours per week , 77.3 % consider the stressful job ,
86.4 % never had sick leave for stress , 54.5 % rated the quality of care as good , has a salary
between 4 to 6 wages minimum (40.9% ) have two or three dependent (40.9%) . 31.8%
identified that are stressed , while 27.3 % is in the resistance and 4.5% exhaustion.
Conclusion: The company shall provide an organizational environment with problem solving
, with incentives , permanent jobs with an emphasis on prevention of occupational stress ,
interpersonal relationships , with the aim of intensifying the humanization of work, to try to
minimize the gap caused by stress once this determines a high price in terms of psychological
, physical and organizational.
