The present work aimed to identify the association and influence of socioeconomic factors in the individual's involvement the mold of conventional and contestative political participation, considering that extreme socioeconomic inequality democracies 1s pointed asone of the causes that would weaken or alienate participation. citizen policy. The study was based on how much the socioeconomic aspects motivate the political participation at the individual level of Brazilians 1n the post-election period of 2014. The hypothesis was whe therthere 1s an association between socioeconomic profile and the political participation of Brazilians. To this end, political participation was classified into four types: electoral;sociopolitical; information and participation im campaigns. These types were elaborated according to Dahl's participation criteria and inspired by the participation index of Martins,Junior and Dantas (2004) and studies on the classification typologies of Borba& Ribeiro(2011) and Cantonl's non-electoral participation (2016). The dissertation was divided in to fourchapters: the first two theorists, whose approach was anchored the democratic theory and participation the procedural aspects and the participationist, classificatory typologies of political participation and socioeconomic factors as conditions of political involvement. The third chapter was devoted to explaiming the quantitative method, presenting the survey of theBrazilian Electoral Study (ESEB) of CESOP, UNICAMP, applied research the post election period of 2014 and data analysis using descriptive and inferential statistics (CHAIDand binary logistic regression). ). The fourth chapter was devoted to final considerations. The results indicated that mn Brazil political participation 1s minimal. Those who participate mostoften tend to have medium to high schooling and income, and those with less participation,lower education and income. Non-political participation presents the profile of voters moreprone to low education and low income, and living certaregions of Brazil may in crease the chance of non-mvolvement political actions. The model showed that gender 1sassociated with few variables that make up participation. And Brazilians' political disinterest 1s Influenced by low education and income, just as we identified this relationship with other aspects of political participation.
