The nurse engaged in the administrative area should be able to act as critical thinker considering the transformations of reality, and adapting it to the management process. Therefore, it is necessary to find these professionals in the process of academic training bases that support this action. The aim of this study was to analyze the limits and possibilities of educational practices used in the academic activities of the discipline Business Administration in Health Services I of course Bachelor of Nursing from a town in Western Curimataú Paraiba. The methodology was based on the Theory of Praxis Intervention of Community Health Nursing - TIPESC and left of discourse analysis proposed by Fiorin (2008) for discussion and analysis. Through qualitative research conducted with ten students taking this course Business Administration in Health Services I, there has been a mismatch between the process of training and what is required in practice. The method proposed by Paulo Freire guided the construction of the study and can be used as theoretical framework in the academic education of nursing students.
