Resumo:
Tradicionaly, soil-line system reactivity in laboratory is evaluated through the Thompson (1966)
methodology. In this methodology, a period of time equivalent to 28 days, is used to determine the stabilized
soil resistence. Sometimes this period of time becomes a problem, because it doesn't allow a prevision of
the stabilized soil resistence in a period of time less than 28 days.
In this research 10 lateritic soils were used, from the Northeast of Brazil, with an addition of 6% of lime,
with the objective of developing a laboratory methodology, that can be used to help predicting lateritic
soil-lime system reactivity, through Uiermic treatment, and consequently can be used to preselect lateritic
soils which are more adequated to be stabilized with lime.
It was noted that the thermic treatment at 100QC temperature during 3 hours and 4 hours can be used
to reach the objective of this research.
