Abstract:
The Brazilian semiarid region has only 8° of all fresh water in the Country. For this reason the quality monitoring of these waters paramount importance. One of the ways to get this control by natural methods is through the analysis of bioindicators. The Cyanobcterias are photosynthetic organisms that are susceptible to physicochemical changes in water bodies. The Olho D’água da Bica is part of a complex of springs in the municipality of Cuite, in Paraiba, used as source of water resources in times of prolonged drought. The objective of this work was to identify the genera of Division Cyanophyta occurring in three points the Horto Florestal Olho D´água da Bica, making a correlation between them and the phyisicochemical parameters recorded at collection points. The collections werw made between November 2012 and December 2013. The physicochemical parameters analyzed were the water temperature, in the act of collections, Ph, turbidity, conductivity, hardness, total phosphrous and orthophosphoto. Werw identified 7 familly and genres of cyanobacteria: Stigonema, Leptolyngbya, Borzia, Lyngbya, Spirulina, Geitlerinema, Synechocystis and some potentially toxic as Anabaena, Phormidium and Oscillatoria. However the dynamics and distribution of taxa indicated that the environment was balanced. The water has temperature around 25.3° C, pH, acid water slightly hard to very hard, turbidity and conductivity below the expected to eutrophic environments as well as phosphorus and orthophosphate. These last from only own physical characteristics of collection points. aIt was conclude then that the waters of the Horto Florestal Olho D´água da Bica spout not under eutrophication by human activities is displayed by the analysis of the parameters and the dynamics of Cyanobacterias.
