The aging process is a morphological and functional alterations which the body develops over time. The twentieth century witnessed a revolution in longevity, however, parallel to the increase in life expectancy, socioeconomic transformations also happened to overcome the changes and problems resulting from aging, through the implementation of actions to improve the quality of life for seniors. This study aimed to evaluate the quality of life of seniors who attend a Basic Health Unit - BHU. This is a descriptive study from the perspective of qualitative approach that included the participation of 30 seniors who attend a basic health unit, which participated in a semi-structured interview about quality of life. The results were analyzed using the technique of content analysis proposed by Bardin (2004). Satisfaction with life was addressed by most elderly people through aspects such as family support, socioeconomic status, welfare, health and autonomy. We verified the existence of an intimate relationship between life satisfaction and health. By analyzing the relationship of elderly people with friends and his acquaintances, was observed a decline of social interaction with acquaintances and the importance of family closeness at this stage of life. The biggest concerns mentioned by the elderly included the family and their own health. Participants reported that their main expectations for the future were related to quality of life and family support. All collected data was analyzed and discussed based on scientific research and relevant empirical studies.
