Education currently faces problem of school failure, which is characterized as dissatisfaction, bad success in the school environment. The consequences of this phenomenon are built on the pillars of disapproval, educational difficulties and learning avoidance. The aim of this study was to analyze the vision of scholars about the scholastic failure. This is a qualitative oriented research involving 36 scholars for courses at the Universidade Federal de Campina Grande, campus Cuité-PB. The data were collected by means of a semi-structured questionnaire and analyzed by the technique of content analysis. The main findings showed that students conceptualize the scholastic failure of form: Little elaborate student-centered, Little developed centered on teaching and Little elaborate system centered on the teacher. As for the causes of school failure, respondents pointed out: the family disorganization, lack of training of teachers, demotivation, lack of school infrastructure, devaluation of the professor/teaching, social inequality, psychological factors of educating, difficulty of educating, misuse of technologies, and physical factors. As consequences of school failure by participants were presented the social consequences, disapproval, lack of learning, emotional consequences, harm families and the devaluation of the professor. What do you say about what should be done with the students who fail the participants mentioned the following psychology, motivation, family support, and public policy. Referring to what must be done to prevent scholastic failure, participants mentioned the improvement in education and family participation, monitoring individual cases, joint school/family/Government and the interest of the student. Finally, in relation to vocational training were asked whether they felt able to deal with issues under discussion, half of the respondents stated that are able to work with the theme in professional performance. The results were discussed on the basis of theoretical and empirical studies are relevant. Therefore it is necessary to emphasize that the new studies in this area stop to compare the conceptions about school failure of academics with the teachers who already work in the labour market. To combat school failure is necessary to the junction of all areas of society, so that the school carries out its function of conveying cordial knowledge and form critical citizens who will act in society making the same democratic and just.
