Abstract:
The relation between work and quality of life is so much complex, so as the work can present
a great aggravator to the health, as to the satisfaction and to well being. This study has as
objective to evaluate the quality of life from the nursing staff that works in the Hospital
Assistance at the small Hospital Ecilda Barbosa Ribeiro at Umari-Ce city. To target the
proposed objective, It was chosen a transversal, descriptive and quantified study type. The
population was constituted by 16 nursing professionals, totalizing 100% from the sample. It
was used one questionary of demographics and professional characteristics and the Whoqol-
Bref. To the analyze was used the descriptive statistics, with the aid of the SPSS statistic
program version 20, Qui-quadrate test and Person test. The level of significance was of 5%.
The results show that the subjects' ages varies from 25 to 55 years old, 50% men and 50%
women, that 50% are married and 37,5% has just one minimum wage. Regarding the
professional characteristics 75% are nursing technicians; 43,75% has just one job vinculum;
68,75% has worked in the institution for less of 5 years. Among the Whoqol-Bref results It
was observed that the workers had a score of 75,75% in the quality of life. In the evaluation
of the function with domain of WHOQOL-Bref was checked a score of 74.82 to nurses and
75.79 for nursing technicians, demonstrating a certain homogeneity in the quality of life of
both categories. The degree of significance, the social and psychological domains, that were
the most influencers domains in the quality of life of these professionals (p <0.001). Given the
results we can say that the studied population has a good quality of life profile, and despite the
good results both in investment and in employee work environment, it is necessary to improve
the quality of life of nursing staff.
