Abstract:
Psychiatric Reform is a complex social and political process, composed of diverse social
actors, focusing on federal, state and municipal governments, universities, associations of
users, their families and friends of CAPS and the social imaginary. One of the fundamental
concepts of this movement is the psychosocial rehabilitation, which represents a set of
programs and services that are developed to recover the autonomy of the user. The Psychiatric
Reform has the keyword deinstitutionalization understood as the construction of new concepts
and practices in mental health, with emphasis on the user, family and community. Ties in this
context, the Family Health Strategy (FHS) working in the same context, embedded in
everyday community aimed at preventing disease, promoting health and improving quality of
life of patients. This study sought to investigate the production practices of mental health care
developed by nurses (as) Teams of the Family Health Strategy for the municipality of Pombal
- PB; identify if nurses (as) of multidisciplinary teams of the ESF develop specific
programmatic actions to meet the demand for mental health; search as nurse (as) of work
teams control drugs used by users with mental disorders and to understand if these
professionals if the ESF feel prepared to work in the mental health field. This is an
exploratory study with a qualitative approach. The research was conducted in all health units
in the municipality of Pombal Family / PB. The study subjects were 11 nurses who work in
the ESF. The researcher has faithfully followed the ethical observances of Resolution 196/96
of the National Health. The instruments of data collection were a questionnaire containing
questions relating to personal / professional and an interview guide with semi-structured
questions that guide the narratives toward the goals of the study. Quantitative data were
analyzed using the index of frequency and percentage. Qualitative data were analyzed using
content analysis in their mode of thematic analysis. It was found that the study subjects are
exclusively female, are mostly aged 23-40 years and are mostly married. Regarding the
training completed the course private institutions and in the period 1983 to 2010. All were
enrolled in the discipline and mental health hospital in the traditional model was the main
training field. Most have work experience in FHS over six months. In the second stage of the
research found that some nurses still work with psychiatric concepts based on the biological
model highlighting the need to break this paradigm of care, through training courses on
mental health. This research sought to contribute to discussions about health care for people in
psychological distress and its process of (re) social inclusion and the need for implementation
of municipal public policies that promote coordination between mental health and primary
health care.
