The Mobile Service Emergency (EMS) was created by the Ministry of Health, through the
ordinance n ° 1.864/GM of September 29, 2003 , is a strategy to formulate a health policy
directed the ER . This study aimed to identify the profile of the events held by
Epidemiological Service Mobile Emergency Care in the city of São José de Piranhas - PB in
the period January to December 2012, and to characterize and determine the number of
attendances . It was exploratory, descriptive, documentary, held in that city. Data were
collected from the registration forms for the year 2012 which were duly completed and signed
by the team that performs the service. During that time we made 764 calls for service. There
was a predominance of males with 52 % of the records of occurrences and age was the most
attended of individuals over 61 years with 33 % of the cases, as the location of the
predominance of residential care had 52%. The clinical events were more common in the so
called , although it has also been a large number of injuries due to external causes as
exogenous poisoning and traffic accidents mostly involving motorcycles . Finally , it was
noted the importance of the existence of the Office of Mobile Emergency Care as a way of
promoting the integral health of the population , increasing the likelihood of better patient
support potentially serious , and therefore the possibility of survival of these individuals.
