The Sweet potato (Ipomeia potatoes) is a very rustic vegetable and has a wide variety of cultivars, existing from the white sweet potato to the sweet potato known popularly as purple. The production potential of sweet potato is high, since it is one of the plants that has the highest capacity to produce energy per unit of area and time (kcal/ha. Day), where one hectare of this root can provide approximately 40 tons of biomass. The study area is comprised of the rural area of MãeD'Água-PB, hinterland of Paraiba. Thus, the main objective of this study is to analyze the productivity of the cultivation of the purple potato brazlândia in the rural area of MãeD'Água-PB, hinterland of Paraiba. The consumption of sweet potatoes is carried out in several ways. The most traditional is cooked, consumed with or without the use of spices, replacing the bread and other food for breakfast. The baked and mashed potato is used in the making of sweets andsavorysuch as: mashed, sweetand salty pie, cake, pudding, and several other products, as main ingredient or as partial substitute of wheat flour. Therefore, what is expected to result in this research is to know how the hydroclimatic variables influence the productivity of this tubers.
