Resumo:
Information should be understood as a reducer of uncertainty, an instrument to detect outbreaks priority, leading to responsible planning and hence the execution of actions in order to constrain the reality. Thus we have the Information System of Primary Care as one of the representatives of the Information Systems nationwide, which was developed to monitoring and evaluation of activities and services performed in the Family Health Strategy. Despite all the progress seen in the period and functioning relatively well-organized system of data collection and dissemination of information of an administrative nature, vital statistics, and epidemiological surveillance, the country still lacks a national information system structured in the sense of an articulated system, with databases that communicate and responsibilities defined as the collection, analysis and dissemination of information. The present study aims to arouse discussions about the SIAB. We aimed to analyze the use of this system in the production of data and information in the hinterland, to identify the factors involved in the production process of data and information system, and to study the process of production of data and information generated by professionals that make up the team of family health units surveyed in order to contribute to the project planning, evaluation and decision making in health care. The present work it is an observational, cross-sectional, descriptive, exploratory, based on data quantiqualititativos with statistical analysis and descriptive and comparative procedure, the technique used was extensive direct observation. The study was conducted in six units of the Family Health of São João do Rio do Peixe (PB), three in urban and three in rural areas. The study included 20 health professionals, including dentists, nurses, nurse technicians and community health workers. It is critical that there be training with the professionals of the FHT's, since the clarification of this information system has been unsatisfactory. Health professionals are not completely lay, but need continuing education, both for those who still demonstrate difficulty with the system, to be familiar with and know the system as a whole, and for those who know to be an update.
