The AIDS pandemic is a major public health problems in the world, this is the last stage of HIV infection and is characterized by severe weakness of the immune system that is unable to deter opportunistic infections and cancers. Given the inevitability of the disease is important to treat these patients as early as possible in this context has the health professional an important role in the diagnosis of outbreaks, as well as to provide these patients a better quality of life with respect to health. The present study aimed to verify reports of AIDS in the State of Paraíba, in the period 2000-2010 . The methodology of the work is in an epidemiological study and quantitative with statistical analysis. The study population consisted of patients with a confirmed diagnosis of both sexes, aged 13 and older, residing in the state of Paraíba and notified the Information System for Notifiable Diseases ( SINAN ). Obtaining as a result of this study, among the twelve Regional Centers Health studied the 1st NRS represented by João Pessoa is where the highest incidence rate with 1,907 cases. As the macro-regional health, the highest incidence was in the Macro I with 73.9 %. Males comprised 65.8 % of reported cases. The way sex was more evident, with an incidence at age 30-49 years. We conclude that these results reveal the profile of this disease in the state, to carry out planning, prevention and promotion can guide health actions for the reduction of cases in order to develop a practice -oriented individuals, professionals and SUS
