Abstract:
The language is a very significant form of expression in our lives, because the subject
needs it to be understood in everyday life. In this sense, reading and writing expand the
capacity of man to enter the world of oral and written communication. From this we reflect
reality, based on consolidated studies, the problem of teaching, reading in the daily life of a
school in the town of Poço Dantas-PB. For this purpose, e analyze how teachers develop
the teaching of reading in early years, as well as e seek to identify the resource materials
used in classes, highlighting the text genres that attract the attention of students and
involve them in teaching and learning of reading. Thus, this research with teachers and
students in a class of that school, contributed to a confrontation between theory and
teaching practice and also to understand the limits and possibilities of effective teaching,
which provides significant lessons, which awaken students' interest with respect to reading.
Through the research we discuss also the understanding of students with regard to their
practices and conceptions of reading. From this, I chose a qualitative and qualitative
research investigating forty subjects and of these, thirty-eight are students and two teachers
are. So too did a field survey in order to have closer ties with the field of observation to
better we outline other questions that could clarify the problem studied. Observations were
made observation, intervations, interviews and questionnaires fron two teachers who teach
in the 4th and 5th year of elementary school, respectively, and students of those years (4th
and 5th year), since, enabled to understand the understanding of these subjects, students /
teachers on the tonic of teaching and learning of reading. This study made it possible to
draw some conclusions. First reinforced the understanding that the process of reading
acquisition is very complex and requires much commitment from students, teachers, family
and all these subjects are fundamental to the success of teaching and learning. Also, I
noticed also that teachers face many difficulties in doing their jobs as educators, because
the structural conditions interfere negatively in school performance classes and
consequently generate discomfort and restlessness in the classroom. Given this fact, there
are many barriers that stand in the act of reading, so students and teachers face many
challenges in developing skills in the field of reading.
