Resumen:
The use of active methodologies in teaching chemistry in the EJA (Youth and Adult
Education) allows students greater flexibility, enthusiasm and interaction between the
contents covered in the classroom. Therefore, it is of fundamental importance that
the teacher of chemistry is able to develop strategies that attract the attention of the
student of this modality of education, trying to make it assimilate and relate the
chemistry to the daily life. In this perspective, the objective of this study was to
evaluate the potential of the use of active methodologies in the high school chemistry
classes of the EJA modality. For this purpose, a didactic sequence was elaborated
through the adoption of diversified methodologies for the hydrocarbon education,
being applied with EJA students of the State School of Elementary and High School
Francisco de Sá Cavalcante, being submitted to questionnaires to evaluate the level
of acceptance of the resources used. Through the obtained results it was possible to
perceive a significant improvement in the students' perceptions regarding the
teaching of chemistry through the use of active methodologies, as they allowed the
student to identify the chemistry in the daily life and the importance of studying it.
Therefore, it is important to diversify the classes of this curricular component,
focusing on the citizens' education of the students through a critical approach to the
role of this discipline in today's society.
