Resumo:
In this work the Theological properties of polyesther/alumina suspensions with alumina concentrations of 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 g/100ml were investigated. Rheological studies were performed on a Brookfield viscometer at ambient temperature and atmospheric
pressure at speeds varying from 0.5 to 5 rpm, which means that allowable shear rate varied from 0.176 to 1.755 s"1 , which is considered low. By analysing the systems response to varying shear rate flow curves were constructed and the apparent viscosity, power index and consistency index determined. The results showed the suspensions rheological behavior to be newtonian and stable for all
alumine concentratios investigated at the shear rates employed.
A mathematical model that successfully describes the rheological behavior of polyester/alumina suspensions was proposed.
