Abstract:
This essay approaches how the implantation of the Center of Sustainable Development of the Federal University of Campina Grande has contributed to the development the municipality of Sume / PB, observing the new practices applied in the Brazilian educational universe, its importance, and social development projects. Thereby, supported by this hypothesis, justify the Academic Research as an efficient method to collect and demonstrate the main points of Social deployment of a large Institution. Based on the hider programs and the currently Higher Education Brasilian reality, through a bibliographical survey, it was sought practical results that could indicate the reflexes and evaluate the impacts and benefits of the Federal University of Campina Grande in the municipality of Sumé / PB, analyzing indicators of social progress, including their plans and projects. The Survey results testify the importance of the university in local development and in access to Higher Education, considering society participation.
