Resumo:
In virtue the great amount of residues generated by the industries of kaolin
improvement, governing and enviromentalists alert the population for the impact
caused by these residues. For this reason, this work thesis will be dealing with it
the incorporation of these residues in mortar traces for use in the civil construction,
aiming to minimize the ambient impact, as also to produce mortar for the use in
masony. In order to achieve the objectives of this thesis physical and mineralogy
characterization was carried out, such as: grain sized distribution of sands, unitary
specific mass, chemical analysis and diffraction X-rays. For the technological tests
mixes for mortar of nesting and covering had been studied, with incorporation of
5%, 10%, 15% and 20% of kaolin residue, in substitution to the part of the
whitewash sand also, mixes for mortar of nesting and covering with whitewash and
sand and whitewash and kaolin residue. The results obtained showed that the
mixes incorporated with up to 15% of kaolin residue were in agreement with
specification (Brazilian specifications) ABNT, and allowed to be concluded that
mixes it is feasible to use of the kaolin residue for the use in the civil construction
with mortar of nesting and covering.
