The word means biodiversity biological diversity, ie, a set of living species currently inhabiting the planet. Many of them are still unknown and have not been studied, reinforcing the need to preserve their habitats so they do not disappear. Working to protect the reef environments is still a scarce task along to high school students. The reef ecosystems represent breeding, nursery and feeding for many groups of animals, especially invertebrates. The objective of this research work was the protection of marine environments on the reef environments through the application of semi-structured questionnaires and lectures to the students of high school in the municipality of Cuité - PB. The study was conducted from September 09 to November 4, 2013, at the State Primary School and Middle Orlando Venancio Santos. O of work was developed in two stages, where 29 students participated in the first and second in total 26. Among the main findings was recorded 58.62% of the students in the first stage had not heard of reef environments. We have observed that the degree of knowledge about the reef environments ranged from fair to good. Also, it was found that there is a need to develop more work in environmental education, directed to the school environment on the importance of preserving marine ecosystems, as well as ways to mitigate the impacts of various human activities in these environments.
