"Um lugar bom de viver": uma etnografia sobre a sociabilidade juvenil na cidade de Cajazeiras/PB.

Abstract

This research aims to understand the perception of young people about the city of Cajazeiras/PB. With the intention of investigating the processes of socialization and youth formation in public spaces of the city. The focus is on the cultural and educational spheres, based on the anthropology of the city and studies on youth. The research was carried out in public spaces for youth socialization in the city of Cajazeiras-PB and with the collaboration of 05 young residents. The emphasis is on the educational perspective that includes the social formation of the individual, analyzing their culture, their interaction in the most varied spaces and relationships. In this way, the city is understood as an educational locus, as an “educating city”. The anthropological perspective, of an ethnographic nature, was the procedure that best contemplated the proposed objectives. For this, observation and semi-structured interviews are used as methodological procedures, with the use of a field diary. It is concluded that Cajazeiras offers spaces for youth sociability and that young people consider it a “good place to live”, despite the demarcation of spaces that take social class as a reference for belonging. Thus, the work contributes to the analysis of the reality of the city and the education of young residents and to the production of knowledge focused on social and educational practices.
