Abstract

This report presents the activities carried out during the integrated curricular internship of the Electrical Engineering program at the Federal University of Campina Grande (UFCG), conducted at FAAB Engenharia. The internship aimed to integrate the theoretical knowledge acquired throughout the course with practical experience in the power sector, involving participation in the company’s design, field execution, and commercial departments. The main activities included analysis of substation and transmission line projects, supervision of a medium-voltage distribution network construction, inspection of a 230-kV transmission line, and development of lightning protection system (SPDA) projects and risk assessments based on ABNT NBR 5419:2015. The experience highlighted the importance of compliance with technical standards and demonstrated the practical application of academic subjects such as Electrical Equipment, Electrical Installations, and High-Voltage Techniques. The internship contributed to technical improvement, the development of interpersonal skills, and a broader understanding of the operations of companies in the power sector.
